It’s a tough debate topic, and one that nearly everyone differs on - the best Kendrick Lamar song of all time. Maybe because he’s just so talented that there’s not one standout song? Who knows. We’ve put together some popular favourites - and make sure to tell us what your favourite is!
‘HUMBLE’ was one of the biggest songs of last year - and never failed to bring singalongs of “Sit down, be humble” on repeat…
One of Kendrick’s first big hits, ‘Swimming Pools (Drank)’ tells a drunken narrative that delves into social constructs around us.
‘Poetic Justice’ has gotta be up there - not only does it feature Drake, but it’s some of his best lyrics. "If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room/ Would you trust it?/ I mean, I write poems in these songs dedicated to you when/ You're in the mood for empathy, there's blood in my pen.”
Not actually his own song, but A$AP Rocky’s ‘F**kin’ Problem’ has always been a jam with Kendrick’s feature.
But without a doubt, the Pharrell Williams co-produced track ‘Alright’ has to be near the top - it’s a song of hope that shone a light and worked as an anthem for police brutality and Black Lives Matter.
Throwing it back to the rapper’s debut album ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ is ‘m.A.A.d city’, a song that portrays the streets of Compton in a harsh but true light. It shows Lamar’s struggles in the gang neighbourhoods, and is truly stunning.
‘Backseat Freestyle’ saw Lamar take it from Compton to Paris.
Kendrick AND Rihanna? Honestly, what could be better? ‘Loyalty’ was the duo’s first ever collaboration, and leaves us wanting another one.
