Roger Waters' Us + Them: "Next-Level Rock & Roll Theatre"

Written by Andy Ritchie / November 02, 2017

Roger Waters Australian tour is about to kick off and we are in for something special!

Waters has been criss-crossing North America since May with his most ambitious audiovisual experience yet, wowing crowds with a fully immersive experience, pulling out Pink Floyd classics from 'Dark Side Of The Moon', 'The Wall', 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Animals', as well as the biggest cuts from his solo material. The North American leg has just wrapped, so let's take a look at what the critics have been saying.

“Beauty was in no short supply at Staples Center, where Waters’ typically elaborate production put his expert road band (filled with hip young players like singer-guitarist Jonathan Wilson and drummer Joey Waronker) on a stage tricked out with sophisticated visual components: high-definition video screens, a floating orb equipped with a camera, a collapsible replica of the iconic Battersea Power Station pictured on the cover of Pink Floyd’s “Animals.” – Los Angeles Times

“one classic-rock staple after another, delivered through a breathtaking sound system that somehow made a hockey arena sound like a pair of Bose headphones. Honestly, it was the best sound quality I’ve ever experienced during my decades of attending shows at the home of the San Jose Sharks.” – East Bay Times

“the most striking cinematic theatrics ever employed on a rock stage. There should be Oscars for this kind of work.” – Billboard

“By the time the second solo hits [in “Comfortably Numb”], so does the strange euphoria that comes with throwing your hands in the air and singing along to a perfect song with thousands of other strangers.” - UPROXX

“Roger Waters delivers music that matters”– OC Register

“Next-level rock-and-roll theater” – Arizona Republic

We all love a glowing review, but what have the fans in the crowds been saying? Let's have a glance at Twitter...
