It's all very exciting isn't it? New city, new digs, new friends! You're going to have heeeeaps of fun over the next few years, so make the most of every minute. 

To help you settle in, we've chosen a selection of gigs that you might want to get involved with in the coming months. Let us run you through some of our picks: we're here to help!

WHO'S THAT, THEN? DJ Tom Loud (or as his mother calls him, Tom Lowndes) AKA Hot Dub Time Machine
WHY SHOULD I GO? It's the BEST. PARTY. EVER. HTDB takes you on a transcendent dance through pop music history, playing tunes from the 60s right up to the present day.
WHERE / WHEN IS THE SHOW? O2 Academy Sheffield, Friday 30th September & O2 Academy Leeds, Saturday 1st October

WHO'S THAT, THEN? One-man band Jack Garratt. You've probably heard of him.
WHY SHOULD I GO? He plays like a million instruments, it's an awesome show and because he's probably got the best beard in the business.

WHO'S THAT, THEN? Australian hard rockin' export Airbourne
WHY SHOULD I GO? Because they've just dropped a new album and it goes HARD. These songs will sound enormous live.
WHERE / WHEN IS THE SHOW? O2 Academy Leeds, Tuesday 22nd November.

WHO'S THAT, THEN? The inimitable Scottish rock band. 'MON THE BIFF!
WHY SHOULD I GO? Their new album 'Ellipsis' is incredible, and if you didn't manage to catch their Reading & Leeds headline sets, their stage set-up for this one is truly epic.

WHO'S THAT, THEN? Rapper, writer and educator Akala from North London
WHY SHOULD I GO? He's celebrating 10 years of his 'It's Not A Rumour' album, and well, watch the video and you'll understand.
WHERE / WHEN IS THE SHOW? The Plug in Sheffield, Tuesday 11th October.

WHO'S THAT, THEN? UK metal's brightest hopes Bring Me The Horizon
WHY SHOULD I GO? Because not only are Bring Me The Horizon playing, you've got lad rockers Don Broco and emo revivalists Basement on the bill.
WHERE / WHEN IS THE SHOW? Sheffield Arena, Sunday 6th November.
