Glasto's A-Coming! Here's Who You Should Be Watching This Weekend...

Written by Andy Ritchie / June 21, 2017

Ahhhhhh Glastonbury! The annual pilgrimage to Somerset where we all get soaked, covered in mud, and miserable by the start of day three. Wait, what's that? It's 33 degrees on site and rain looks to be *tentatively* staying away. Well, that's put a real spanner in the works for tradition, hasn't it?!

As always, if you can't make it to Worthy Farm this weekend, the BBC will be livestreaming more acts than you can possibly fathom on iPlayer across the weekend. Which means we can all be a part of the action.

With that in mind, here's who we're deffo not missing this weekend whether on site or off, and a few handy links to where you'll be able to watch their sets.

WHO? Royal Blood
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THEY PLAYING?  5.45pm on Friday // Pyramid Stage
I SHOULD WATCH THEM BECAUSE... They're the loudest two-piece around, and their new album 'How Did We Get So Dark?' is nigh-on flawless.
AFTER THAT, THEY'LL BE PLAYING... all around the UK on their headline tour in November. Ally Pally in London, anyone?

WHO? Emeli Sandé
WHEN AND WHERE IS SHE PLAYING? 8.35pm on Sunday // Other Stage
I SHOULD WATCH THEM BECAUSE... It'll be one of the last things Emeli does before the Long Live The Angels Tour kicks off in October. Time to fall in love again with these songs one more time.
AFTER THAT, SHE'LL BE PLAYING... in arenas across the country with her Long Live The Angels tour this October

WHO? The National
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THEY PLAYING? 7.45pm on Saturday // Pyramid Stage
I SHOULD WATCH THEM BECAUSE... The National are a quintessential festy band - and if the sun's shining, this will be a lush experience for all.
AFTER THAT, THEY'LL BE PLAYING... Edinburgh, Manchester and London this September. Four nights at the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith? Lovely stuff.

WHO? Biffy Clyro
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THEY PLAYING? 7.30pm on Sunday // Pyramid Stage
I SHOULD WATCH THEM BECAUSE... At this point, do we really need to explain? It's Biffy, man! Their last tour was a laser-filled, singalong spectacle, and this'll be no different.
AFTER THAT, THEY'LL BE PLAYING... TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow in 2 weeks time
WATCH LIVE / FIND TICKETS

WHO? Halsey
WHEN AND WHERE IS SHE PLAYING? 5.40pm on Friday // The Other Stage
I SHOULD WATCH HER BECAUSE... The new record 'Hopeless Fountain Kingdom' is a world away from her debut 'Badlands', but still a special thing in its own right. Now to see how those new songs go down...
AFTER THAT, SHE'LL BE PLAYING... Watch this space
WATCH LIVE

WHO? Rag 'N' Bone Man
WHEN AND WHERE IS HE PLAYING? 2.55pm on Sunday // The Other Stage
I SHOULD WATCH HIM BECAUSE... The Number One album-selling soul singer has won the country's heart with his touching tunes and nice man charm. This will be a right love-in.
AFTER THAT, HE'LL BE PLAYING... Watch this space.
WATCH LIVE

WHO? Dua Lipa
WHEN AND WHERE IS SHE PLAYING? 2.10pm on Friday // John Peel Stage
I SHOULD WATCH THEM BECAUSE... The London-based singer-songwriter is playing her first Glastonbury off the back of a clutch of stellar singles, and a brand new album. Something tells us this won't be her last...
AFTER THAT, THEY'LL BE PLAYING... EVERYWHERE with The Self-Titled Tour this October.
WATCH LIVE / FIND TICKETS

WHO? Ward Thomas
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THEY PLAYING? 8pm on Sunday // Acoustic Stage
I SHOULD WATCH THEM BECAUSE... The sisterly duo's country vibes are built for acoustic stages, and this'll be no different.
AFTER THAT, THEY'LL BE PLAYING... We don't actually know just yet. But when we know, you'll know. You know?
WATCH LIVE

WHO? London Grammar
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THEY PLAYING? 8.30pm on Sunday // John Peel Stage
I SHOULD WATCH THEM BECAUSE... They have LITERALLY just released their second album 'Truth Is A Beautiful Thing' after a painstaking four-year wait. Now let's hear it live!
AFTER THAT, THEY'LL BE PLAYING... a full UK tour this October. Birmingham and London are already sold out, FYI...
WATCH LIVE / FIND TICKETS

WHO? The Jacksons
WHEN AND WHERE ARE THEY PLAYING? 22.15 on Saturday // West Holts Stage
I SHOULD WATCH THEM BECAUSE... It's the ruddy first family of music, THE JACKSONS! We challenge you to keep your feet still when they roll out 'Blame It On The Boogie' and 'Can You Feel It?'
AFTER THAT, THEY'LL BE PLAYING... Greenwich Music Time on 6th July
