The Dixie Chicks Offer 'Positivity' After Orlando

Written by Ezra Marcus / June 14, 2016

The Dixie Chicks appeared at New York's Madison Square Garden last night, and took the opportunity to address the Orlando shooting and offer tribute to the 49 victims. The Chicks sang Ben Harper's "Better Way" backed by a rainbow-colored heart, and Maines spoke to the crowd— "We cannot let the hatred and the anger win out," she said, according to Newsday. "We gotta put positivity out there in the universe."

The group had previously posted a message on Twitter and said, "Our hearts and thoughts go out to the friends and families who have lost their loved ones to violence in Orlando this week. It's so important during these times to stay united as people against this misguided hatred. #Peaceandlovepeaceandlove."
