Megadeth is heading home after a massive European tour opening for Five Finger Death Punch. The iconic heavy metal bands wrapped up their 2020 tour on February 22 in Sofia, Bulgaria at the Arena Armeec.
Megadeth's setlists typically ranged from 10 to 11 songs, with the main set show opener being “Hangar 18" and main set closer being “Peace Sells,” followed by a one or two encore performances. They featured hits from albums like Rust in Peace, Dystopia, Countdown to Extinction and Cryptic Writings, among others.
Below, we highlight some of the memorable tracks and moments that they provided for fans throughout the tour!
January 20 - Hartwall Arena - Helsinki, Finland The tour kicked off January 20 in Helsinki, Finland, at the Hartwall Arena, which was the first show for guitarist and frontman Dave Mustaine since he announced his battle with throat cancer earlier in 2019.

January 24 - Royal Arena - Copenhagen, Denmark Megadeth made this show particularly important because of their live tour debut of Mechanix. The song has been played 382 times in concert, but it hasn’t been performed since 2018. The band played it three more times at shows in Cardiff, London and Warsaw.
January 26 - AFAS Live - Amsterdam, Netherlands While they typically closed out the entire show with an encore performance of “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due,” this show closer was a special one. Megadeth did a special tour debut of “The Conjuring” from the iconic Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? album. The track was last played in November 2019.

January 31 – The SSE Arena - London, England Many of the setlists include a tour debut, but this show was the only one to include two of them. The band played “The Threat Is Real” and “Tornado of Souls.” This show was also the one where Dave Mustaine announced that as of October 16, his doctor had proclaimed him cancer-free.
They featured other tour debuts in February, including “Conquer or Die!” “Angry Again,” and a particularly special performance of “Dread and the Fugitive Mind” on Valentine’s Day. This was the first time song was played since 2001.

These tour highlights fuel a lot of anticipation for what Megadeth has in store for us this summer on a joint headlining tour with Lamb of God, where their setlists will double in songs. And with a new record on the way, we except some sweet live debuts.
The Metal Tour of the Year will kickoff its North American dates this summer. Support for the tour will come from Trivium and In Flames. Tickets and location details can be found here.
