This weekend, pop icon Katy Perry performed her first show of the year at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. The performance happened shortly after she also announced her pregnancy via the video for her newest single, “Never Worn White,” which was released earlier this week. The video has garnered over 19 million views since then, which proved to be a major comeback for the singer. Perry is expecting her first child with fiance Orlando Bloom. She showed off her baby bump the day before her performance during rehearsals in Melbourne.
Katy Perry took the stage twice with two performances of “Roar” and “Firework” before the match and an hour-long set after the trophy presentations. Opening up with “Roar,” Perry sauntered onto the field in a pink dress with mascots carrying “Grl Pwr” signs as a testimony to International Women’s Day.
The 11-song setlist after the match featured a slate of classic hits, she didn't perform her new song, however. She busted out staples like “Firework,” “Teenage Dream,” “Hot N Cold,” “Last Friday Night,” “California Gurls,” “I Kissed A Girl” and “E.T.,” among other featured tracks.

While performing “Wide Awake,” Perry paused abruptly and said, “I hope it’s a girl” to the crowd of fans as the stage erupted into a flurry of hot pink. She closed out the festivities with another performance of the iconic “Firework.”

Following the victory of Australia’s women’s cricket team in the World Cup, the group lived out their glory with Katy Perry on stage during “Firework.” The players celebrated their record title victory, with this being their fifth T20 World Cup after beating India in the final. Champion Sophie Molineux excitedly shared her triumph with Katy Perry on the stage. She whipped out a few dance moves for the crowd, much to Perry’s enjoyment.
