PRIMAVERA SOUND IS A FESTIVAL BUILT TO GO ALL NIGHT LONG

Written by LNTV Staff / Photography by Colin Kerrigan / June 14, 2016

Primavera Sound is set by the beach in an architecturally rich part of Barcelona, Spain. It also boasts the kind of stacked bill that festivals just don't see in the United States. This year, the three-day, up-all-night-long lineup featured Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Brian Wilson, Pusha T, LCD Soundsystem, Battles, Beach House, Tame Impala, and many, many more. Despite the talent, Primavera's views perpetually threaten to steal the show away from its performers. Same goes for its patrons, who literally stay up 'til sunrise every night to catch music. It's not the type of festival that thins out, either. When Battles played at 3:30 a.m., there were about 15,000 people watching. Of course, Barcelona on a regular weekend is a city that never sleeps, making it the ideal place to serve as a festival backdrop. Below, photographer Colin Kerrigan shares his pics from a weekend in Barcelona for Primavera 2016.
