After much success from their last joint tour in 2018, alternative rock band legends Weezer and Pixies have officially rejoined forces once again for a 2019 trek across North America. The tour officially kicked off on March 8th in Louisville, Kentucky to an audience of fans eagerly anticipating their return.
Once Weezer hit the stage, they kicked off their set with a satirical barbershop quartet adaptation of their chart-topping hit "Buddy Holly." The band originally debuted the barbershop quartet bit on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and have decided to stick with it for the tour.

After their opening bit, Weezer transitioned into tracks from their debut Blue Album before diving into more classic hits and deep cuts. While many fans anticipated a slew of songs from their most recent release, The Black Album, Weezer decided to incorporate more tracks from their other 2018 covers release, the Teal Album. That album consists of covers from Jane's Addiction, Tears For Fears, A-ha, TLC and their infamous "Africa" by Toto cover.

When it came time for the Pixies to hit the stage, the Boston-native rockers kicked off their set with none other than fan-favorite hits "Gouge Away" and "Wave of Mutilation." The Pixies may not morph into a barbershop quartet quite like Weezer, but they make up by playing a set full of hits and crowd-pleasing tracks from "Monkey Gone to Heaven," "Gigantic," and even "Debaser," which closes out their set each night.
Pixies also take note from their tour mates to incorporate popular covers in their set. While they might not have an album dedicated to cover songs, the band only performs two covers: they're popular rendition of "Head On" by The Jesus and Mary Chain and Neil Young's "Winterlong."
