WATCH BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE PLAY FIRST NEW SONG IN SEVEN YEARS, ANNOUNCE NEW CONCERTS {CHANGE THIS}

Emilee Lindner / April 04, 2017

Broken Social Scene performed new music together for the first time in seven years on Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The Canadian collective unveiled "Halfway Home," which premiered just hours before, with a 13-piece band -- including horns, a bevy of handclaps and plenty of vocals.

Among the band were frontman Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, Justin Peroff, Andrew Whiteman, Charles Spearin, Sam Goldberg, Ariel Engle, Metric's Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw, Stars' Amy Millan and Evan Cranley, David French, and Dave Hodge. The song follows up their critically acclaimed 2010 album Forgiveness Rock Record.

To celebrate the band's return to music, Broken Social Scene announced the beginning of summer tour dates, including their appearances at Primavera Sound and Field Trip Festival.
