The newest bassist of Korn is only 12 years old, but he's also the son of bass veteran Robert Trujillo, of Metallica.

Tye Trujillo has been hired to step in for Korn's Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, who can't make the band's tour dates in South American due to "unforeseen circumstances." Starting April 17, the band will be playing seven scheduled shows in Columbia, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

“We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye,” Korn wrote on Facebook. “We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May.”

The younger Trujillo currently plays bass in a Southern California band called The Helmets.
