Nearly 11 years ago, Metallica took the stage at Copenhagen's Forum to rock the city for five nights. The shows took play on July 20, 22, 23, 27, and 28 of 2009.
The July 22nd gig was put up yesterday by the band for all to see, as part of Metallica Mondays - their free, weekly streaming series to keep isolating fans some company in these unprecedented times.
"While we’re all doing our part and staying home, we find ourselves missing live music, so how about we dive back into a few of our favorite shows at a socially responsible distance? Let’s stay connected and virtually visit a few of our favorite places in the world together as we bring a series of live Metallica shows right to your couch!"
These shows were part of their World Magnetic Tour, a two year world tour that supported their ninth studio album Death Magnetic. The Copenhagen shows landed on the FORTH European leg of the tour and revolved around a festival headlining set at Finland's Sonisphere.
The particular show that is now streaming online, featured an 18-song setlist, like the other four nights. Each setlist varied slightly differently, but all of them opened with the same two songs: "That Was Just You Life" and "The End of the Line," which are also the first two songs off of DM.
On July 22nd they also did "Creeping Death," "Holier Than Thou," "The Four Horsemen," "The Judas Kiss," and "Damage, Inc." During the three-song encore, they always included a cover, differing each night. Almost all these cover songs can be found recorded by the band on their covers compilation album, Garage, Inc.

July 28th - "The Ecstasy of Gold" by Ennio Morricone - YES they actually performed this live and not by tape - it was the first time they ever performed it as a band.
Other highlights from this little residency included the live debut of "Suicide & Redemption" on the 27th, and Lars Ulrich singing during the "Kvinde Min" jam in Danish, after doing a finale of "Seek & Destroy" on the last night of the shows.
