PARAMORE COVER THE STROKES AT A SECRET NASHVILLE SHOW

Paramore got a jump start on celebrating the release of fifth album After Laughter on Wednesday night by playing a secret show in their hometown of Nashville. The trio performed at the small venue Exit/In, debuting live versions of "Hard Times" and "Told You So." They also broke out a cover of The Strokes' 2001 classic, "Someday."

Taylor York's guitar -- which is disctinctly heard in more intricate parts on their new album -- very precisely nails The Strokes' recorded riffs, as Zac Farro lays down a steady rock beat. In a fan-made video, below, Hayley Williams' vocals are quieter, but she takes on a Julian Casablancas tone and rolls out the lyrics in a lower range. Although Williams is known for her soaring soprano, she takes a chiller approach to "Someday" -- more nonchalant rock star than energetic power punk.
