Why This Feeling ‘alive’ Is The Best Indie Rock Tour You’ll See In 2017

Written by Megan Snell / July 07, 2017

This October, three of the most exciting new acts in the world of indie rock hit the road together for the hottest multi-band tour of 2017.

Touring under the moniker ‘alive’ the acts on the bill emerged from playing rock’n’roll club night This Feeling – a common hang out for the likes of Kasabian, The Libertines and the Gallagher brothers. Noel Gallagher himself pegged the night “the best club in the UK for future rock ‘n’ roll stars.”

Handpicked for their shared dedication to the scene, and ability to send venues into frenzy, here’s a short intro to each of the bands…

THE SHIMMER BAND

Bristol four-piece The Shimmer Band are serving up euphoric Britpop with nods to late 90s Verve, U2 and Kasabian. Give their huge new tune ‘What Is Mine’ a blast:

BANG BANG ROMEO

The female-fronted, larger-than-life Sheffield band have been described as a more hard-edged Fleetwood Mac. Track ‘Johannesburg’ is the perfect introduction to their sound:

BLACKWATERS

Tipped as the new Libertines, Blackwaters make clever, raw indie punk and were recently highlighted by tastemaker Clash as “one of the most important bands of an era”. Tune into track ‘Down’:
