Introducing: Aaron Lee Tasjan

Written by Megan Snell / July 14, 2017

"I sing jokes and call 'em songs, nobody knows where they belong."

World, meet Aaron Lee Tasjan!

Aaron Lee Tasjan is the Nashville singer-songwriter breaking the Americana mould.

Injecting the genre with his razor-sharp wit and satire, Tasjan crafts smart, off-kilter but meaningful tunes that have seen him compared to legendary songwriters Harry Nilsson and Randy Newman.

First picking up the guitar as a teen, Tasjan has a rich and varied musical past behind him, from playing with glam bands Semi Precious Weapons and New York Dolls, to collaborating with BP Fallon and Sean Lennon. Despite his many other projects, Tasjan's always considered himself a songwriter first and foremost, moving to Nashville in 2013 to focus on his solo output.

The result was 2015’s self-released LP ‘In The Blazes’, which received accolades from American Songwriter and Rolling Stone and saw New West Records sign up him. His sophomore album ‘Silver Tears’ came a year later, which Rolling Stone hailed "one of the year's best Americana releases".
