The xx's comeback is in full force—after releasing the video for their viral single “On Hold,” the trio played the first show of their European tour in Zagreb, Croatia on November 28. Fans at the show got the first taste of the band’s upcoming album, I See You, which is set for release on January 13.
The band made a special appearance on the famed comedy show Saturday Night Live just two weeks ago, where they performed “On Hold” and debuted another stunning single, “I Dare You”. In case you missed it, here’s a video recap:
As they kicked off their tour, not only did they preview songs from their new album, they made sure to keep their long-devoted fans happy by throwing in some of their classics. Delivering an altogether dreamy, nostalgia-inducing set, the band featured some of their classics such as “VCR,” “Crystalised,” “Intro,” “Angels” and a sweet mash-up of “Gosh” and “Shelter,” taking us back to simpler times. Showing their support for frontman Jamie xx’s solo work, they also included renditions of his singles, “Loud Places” and “Shelter."
