Die Band ist bekannt für ihre ungewöhnlichen und spektakulären Auftritte auf dem Roten Teppich bei Award Shows - immer wieder überraschen die Jungs mit neuen, verrückten Ideen. Wir haben euch eine Auswahl ihrer spektakulärsten Auftritte zusammen mit der Erläuterung und einem Zitat der Band zusammengestellt.

Foto 1: Am 2. April 2017 bei den Juno Awards in Ottawa, Kanada. Marianas Trench war für “Pop Album of the Year” mit ihrem Album “Astoria” nominiert.

Foto 2: Bei den iHeart & MuchMusic Video Awards 2016. Die Band kam in einem Golfcart in voller Montur und bereit für die nächste Partie Golf auf dem Roten Teppich.

Foto 3: Bei den 2015 MuchMusic Video Awards. Die Band kam in Wasser-Skiern in ihrer feinsten Bademontur auf den Roten Teppich.

“You’ll be happy to know that both Ian and Mike are pleasure craft operator certified.  And speaking of pleasure crafts, take a look at Ramsay’s man-kini.  Good thing he’s packing.” – Matt Webb

Fotos 4 & 5: 2014 bei den MuchMusic Video Awards. Josh und Matt kamen auf den Teppich, als wären sie gerade erst aus dem Bed geschlüpft und stünden auf einmal auf dem Roten Teppich. Sie wurden in einem Kingsize Bett angefahren und stiegen nach einer Kissenschlacht aus um auf dem Teppich ihrer Morgenroutinge nachzugehen - inklusive Cornflakes und Zähne putzen.

“We actually had no idea there was an award show going on. Josh and I just rolled out of bed, poured a tasty bowl of CTC (cinnamon toast crunch) and proceeded to have a pillow fight with some hot models in lingerie. Look, we’re not accountants.” – Matt Webb

Fotos 6, 7, 8: 2013 bei den MuchMusic Video Awards. Die Band kam verkleidet als Meerjungfrauen in einem Wassertank zum Teppich - Fans und Reporter hatten die Möglichkeit die Jungs unter Wasser zu drücken.

Fotos 9 & 10: Bei den MuchMusic Video Awards 2012. Passend zu ihrem Album "Ever After" Fairytale Album kam die Band in einem aufblasbaren Kinderschloss zum Teppich gefahren. Das Märchen-Thema unterstützend standen Ritter neben dem Schloss und wedelten Marianas Trench-Fahnen während die Band als Märchenprinzen auf aufblasbaren Pferden über den Teppich ritt.

“Not sure what the hell we were thinking with this one, let’s dress as soldiers and arrive in an inflatable bouncy castle on horseback. Makes sense.” – Matt Webb

Foto 11: 2011 bei den MuchMusic Video Awards. Die Band kam in zwei übergroßen Hamsterrädern den Teppich runter gerollt.

“There is actually only 20 minutes of oxygen supply inside the ball… for ONE person.  Thankfully it only opens from the outside and it was 30 degrees outside. I may or may not have had a switchblade in my pocket.”  – Matt Webb

Foto 12: 2010 bei den MuchMusic Video Awards. In diesem Jahr fuhr Marianas Trench im prall gefüllten Whirlpool angerollt und liefen plitschplatsch-nass den Roten Teppich entlang.

“Whilst getting out of the hot tub, I provocatively removed my blazer, spun it around like a stripper and launched it into the crowd, only to have it land on the head of a well put together member of all girl band, Girlicious. Her dress was soaked and her 4-hour award show makeup was ruined. Needless to say, I didn’t have a chance.” – Matt Webb

Foto 13: Der 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards fand kurz nach dem Release ihres "Masterpiece Theatre" Albums statt. Zur Feier des Tages fuhren Marianas Trench auf ihrem Schauwagen mit einer ganzen Parade den Teppich entlang - inklusive Blaskapelle, Cheerleadern und Akrobaten.

“Here we are as a parade float. What you can’t see is the giant marching band and mob of cheerleaders that preceded our arrival.  This gag would go on to be copied by other bands, yet never duplicated, year after year after year. We’re the original parade float gangsters and don’t you fucking forget it.” -  Matt Webb

Foto 14: Bei ihrem ersten MMVA war gerade ihr Debütalbum “Fix Me” erschienen. Damals liefen sie mit einem riesigem Party-Sandwich über den Roten Teppich und fütterten die Zuschauer und Reporter.
