'MUSIC HAPPENS HERE' DOC: YOU GOTTA SEE SPOTIFY'S' NEW SERIES, PRESENTED BY HILTON HONORS

Written by Emilee Lindner / April 20, 2017

Have you ever wondered where Fleetwood Mac wrote Tusk? Where N.W.A got discovered? Where Incubus holed up to create Morning View? Where the inspiration for Jim Morrison's "Moonlight Drive" hit? It was all in Los Angeles.

In Spotify's original Music Happens Here documentary series, music industry greats show you around the historic places where your favorite music was born. The L.A. installment of the series visits landmarks like Capitol Studios, where Frank Sinatra recorded; Tam's Burgers, which appears in Kendrick Lamar's raps; and the Seventh Veil strip club, where Mötley Crüe filmed their "Girls, Girls, Girls" music video. The city is soaked in musical importance.

Produced by Spotify in partnership with Live Nation and presented by Hilton Honors, each episode of the Music Happens Here series explores a different city and the music it spawned, whether it be New York, London, Seattle or New Orleans. Watch the trailer for the series below:

The Los Angeles episode features numerous musicians — Skrillex; Robby Kreiger, John Densmore and the late Ray Manzarek of The Doors; Nikki Monninger and Christopher Guanlao of Silversun Pickups; MC Eiht of Compton's Most Wanted; Ryan Hahn and Taylor Rice of Local Natives; Brandon Boyd and Mike Einziger of Incubus; Micky Dolenz of The Monkees; Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach; Robert and Dean DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots; and Sebastian Bach of Skid Row.
